Alaya was born into a small family as a single child. Growing up she was always well taken care off and protected from most of the harms of the outside world, except for the teasing among classmates. She was never the smartest of her class, but certainly not the most stupid either. It all went relatively easy on her, but as she grew older school became more expensive and her parents were no longer able to afford it. Instead, she was sent to an abbey twice a week where she was taught the fundamental things she needed in life, like gardening, knitting, cooking and of course religion. However, religion forced upon someone doesn't always work out for the best, and she found herself not wanting to go to the abbey anymore after a while and started protesting towards her parents. They didn't give her a say in the matter and forced her to keep going, which made an aversion towards that God be bloomed inside of her.

When she was 17 she was finally done with most of her schooling and she was able to actually start living her life. Not wanting to sew clothes for the rest of her life she tried to look for more interesting jobs, but as a woman she was not accepted at most places. Alaya had no other choice but to work as a volunteer if she wanted to work something she actually cared for and so she did, at a shelter at first and later at a nursery home. During this time, when she was no longer forced to "get in touch with the gods and goddesses" she actually found herself opening up more spiritually, because of the people and creatures she met that were in such poor condition. Aiding them in their needs and being shown that her own life was not so difficult as she sometimes thought, she developed something divine inside of her. The nurturing and love she send out towards others also heaped up inside of her, and became an actual source she could tap into.

When she reached the age of 20, the first minor things started to show, though she did not realise they came from her. She was able to cure minor wounds and ailments, and though she thought it was because of the herbs she was using, her powers were adding to them so they became more potent. That's why her new dream is to become an alchemist. She already knows the way of herbs and plants and wants to expand into more intricate potions. It will be a hard work, and time will have to tell if she can fulfill her dreams.

During her time in the shelter she also stumbled upon two Shi'Vali's that she has adopted as her own. A little blue baby, nicknamed Pillow, and an even tinier baby with the colors of the sun and snow, which she named Wèilái (meaning Future in Chinese, in hopes of getting her a bright future). Young as these Shi's are though they can be very wild in their playing and need to be tamed before they get older. She doesn't want to crush the essence and spirit of their being, but just make them tame enough so that they don't end up hurting someone. Later on, she will set out to aid others with the help of her two furballs and will not be afraid to hunt down bandits or ancient artifacts, if that is required by the local population.
